If you've been around rocketry for awhile then you know the 3" BSD Horizon is an excellent 1st rocket for anyone getting into Mid Power Rocketry and Level 1 Certification. There's really not much I can say about this rocket than what most people don't already know. This kit did exactly what it was designed for and allowed me to do it with ease. Mods made by me: I did not epoxy the aft centering in place on the motor tube unil I was done with the fins which allowed me to beef it up inside the airframe, then close her up. I added a small internal bay for carrying a PerfectFlite Alt15k/WD "read only" altimeter. And I shortened the airframe by 1 inch. I painted the nose cone and fins Gold. The main airframe a Camaro Yellow. I then applied around 30 coats of an acrylic clear coat with multicolored metallic flakes. I flew this rocket, w/altimeter, March of 2004, to an altitude of 1908' on an Aerotech H165 Redline motor for my Level 1 Certification Flight.
